Pat Clayton – Our Current Featured Artist – Now through October
A family doctor in Seattle since 1978, Pat presently works as an MD only on a volunteer basis. She’s been drawing and painting since childhood (her grandmother was a painter), and became more serious about artistic education in 1997. She has taken multiple classes and workshops in portraiture and figure through the Gage Academy and Scottsdale Artists School. To improve the liveliness of her color, she spent two weeks at the Cape Cod School of Art where the focus was on the temperature of the landscape (effects of the presence or absence of sunlight on the actual color we perceive). She’s particularly interested in the impact that the underpainting has on the final result.
